Default Methanol injection questions

I know there are some of you out there running methanol as use for intercooling on your superchargers or whatever. I had an idea that I was going to use a procharger type air to air intercooler for my setup, but since the fan doesn't have enough clearance I'm going to have to flip it around to the front and make it a pusher... somehow... haha.

So that leaves me with 2 options, get the water to air intercooler that vortech has or run methanol injection. I want to use the cheaper of the 2 which I think is the methanol injection method.

I have3 questions now:
1. What are some brands of methanol injection kits are out there?
2. How long does it last before you have to refill. It's going to be daily driven. If it doesn't last long, that's ok.
3. I have a 12psi pulley that's on the s/c right now. I'm looking for options around changing pulleys when I'm at the track vs. just regular driving on the street. I have a multi-tune SCT chip right now. So this is what I was thinking. Keep the 12psi pulley on there, and just retard the heck out of it for daily drive tune, and then have the second tune for track/methanol use, where I could run increased timing when running the methanol. Anything wrong with that? Gimme some suggestions.

Default RE: Methanol injection questions

1. Anderson Ford Motorsport, Snow performance
2. depends on the jetting and boost level and size of tank
3. yes but remember, when not running the methanol you have to add fuel as well, you cant just pull timing

Yea, I have a 255 pump sittin on the ground behind me and some 42lb injectors on the way. Would that be sufficient you think? Or should a inline pump be added also?

Default RE: Methanol injection questions

id run a t-rex pump just for the piece of mind. the 255lph pump will flow enough hp to make serios hp buts unless its a high pressure 255 pump i would get an inline pump. the tank pump supplies the volume and the inline keeps pressure high. a good rule of thumb is to add 1psi of fuel for every pound of boost.....within reason. so 42psi is stock (many say 39 is but it wasnt on my car) and you want to run 12psi of boost, you should run 54psi of fuel at wot. the reason for this is that the stock injectors are designed to have 42psi behind them and 0psi infront of them (i.e. in the intake). now that you have 12psi of boost in the manifold its like having your injectors set to 30psi of pressure on a n/a motor and thats too little for propper atomization. so by adding 1psi of fuel for each pound of boost, you are ensuring that the injectors have 42psi of pressure MORE then the intake manifold has in it. i run my fuel pressure at 50psi. technically i should be at 51 but im not going to split hairs.

and when i said add fuel when not spraying methanol, i mean you have to increase the pulse width of the injectors so they spray more. when the methanol stops flowing, the motor will go lean if the injectors dont open up more

any more questions?
