Default Oil pressure?

So I bought an autometer oil pressure gauge. The thing came with instructions for every type of meter they sell except the oil pressure gauge. I said no problem, I'll just swop my existing gauge with new one and recycle all the parts. Well, I looked at it today and it appears the two gauges function very differently. The stock guage seems to powered electrically and the new gauge looks like it works off of pressure. Anybody have instructions for this?

throw that plastic tube in the trash

the gauge should have came with a fitting that goes in where the electronic sending unit was.

buy a copper tubing and feed it through the firewall. attach one end to the fitting in the block and the other to the gauge

done.

I haven't installed anything. I took a look at the existing sender and gave up very quickly. Plastic no good huh? Will check accessories that came with meter. You would think they would have supplied the right info and materials in the first place.

i highly suggest not using the plastic tubing.. unless you like oil in your dash.

think i spent $6 on more than enough copper at autozone.
