Default Completed Speed Density Cam Swap

Well I complete my speed density cam swap on thursday and the car is running much better then I expected. I've yet to really get on the throttle yet but cruising and idle is good. The car will surge up to 1500 rpm then drop back down again about every2 minutes. It idles a little high about 1000 rpm but idle stays constant.

The cam I used was a comp xtreme energy 270hr-14. Its pretty mild but a lot better then stock. I was just letting you guys know that with the right cam selection you can swap a cam into even a speed density car.

it works excellent with a set of heads to make use of it. You'll grow tired of the surge and stall that is going to become common with the car, been there done that.

whoa, hold on a second here.... who converted their MAF system to SD.... oh yea.. ME!

Zach. Use a small fuel filter in the MAP sensor vac line. It will allow for a smoother idle. I know it sounds weird, but its an old MS trick. It reduces the "pulses" in the vac signal, and will make the car run smoother at idle/low rpm's

Yep I just bought one tonight. I'm going to put in in tomorrow and see how that helps.

Dman I haven't had any stalling problems, the car doesn't drop below 800rpm at all. I've been driving the car the past 2 days no problems. The surge only happens about every 2 minutes or so. It will stay steady then surge up and come right back down and stay steady again.

I'll have to make a video some time when it isn't raining. The cam isn't the most agressive sounding one out there but its definitly noticable at idle.
