after toying around with the car i discovered that the car will only start when i prime it or pour gas into it and when the gas is gone it will die

when i prime the carb or pour gas into the carb, just bought the car ran fine the first day then the next day it wouldnt start after i ran it out of gas but the first day i got it it semed to cut out when i floored it or hesitate, im trying to find a place to rebuild and tune it but i cant yet

Sounds like the float may be stuck, or the primarys are clogged.

its almost like its getting no gas from the tank but it ran the other day i drve it til it was out of gas it was idling in my driveway then died and i put more gas in it and drove it in my garage then it wont start ever since

sounds stupid but did you check and make sure the filter isnt clogged? (theres also usually another one up on the carb itself where the fuel inlet fitting is)

+1 check if the filter is clogged then check if the fuel line is shooting out fuel. if it is the float maybe stuck or something is clogged. if it wont push out any fuel then you gotta check your line then your fuel pump.

yes check your filter make sure its not clogged. i put two inline fliters in my gas line one right after the fuel tank and before the electric pump and one near the engine before the carb. my car did the same thing i got dirt in the carb from running it empty the floats got stuck. take a hammer and not very hard but hard enough hit the front and rear bowls that should get them unstuck then get in hold your foot to the floor on the gas pedel and start it just keep cranking it once it starts your rpms will go all the way up clear out the carb and you should be good

What was wrong w/ THIS thread?? Why make another one asking the same questions when you haven't responded to the things ppl, including myself told you to try. Apparently you don't know enough about it and should probably take it somewhere that does.
