Here's a link from when I researched the swap to do in mine, since my AOD sucks. it should answer most of these questions, and includes a parts list: http://www.allfordmustangs.com/Detailed/25.shtml

The AOD x-member should be the same, IIRC. I got a Prothane tranny mount and had to enlarge the size of the slots to accomodate the larger bolts, but it fit fine after that. I also bought Energy suspension bushings for the crossmember since the rubber ones were fairly shot.

The block plate may or may not be the same, but the bell housing is as well as the driveshaft.

You should not have to fab anything up, but will need the clutch pedal assembly fora manual. Something I've also heard/noticed is the location of the speedo cable on the AOD. It comes in thru the hole where the clutch cable will need to go, and the speedo cable needs to be moved over toward the middle [from the driver's side]to the next hole a few inches over.

ok one more question. Do have to drain the oil to take the flexplate off and put a flywheel on? Ive heard that the oil will come out through those holes in the one piece rear main seal engines.

thanks
nate

It would be a good idea to drain it all. I would also change your rear main seal while you're back there and already have everything apart.

another quick question since I thought of it... Is there a hole below my automatic shifter with like a cover plate or am I going to have to cut a hole in the floor of the car to get the manual shifter up through?
