Fault codes what do they really mean
Hey everyone, I read the codes on my car, an 87 GT. here are the koer code
First code is 21: Cooling temp. sensor out of specified range or ECT out of range...... Could this be due to an aftermarket guage?
Second code is 44: Thermactor air system fault / right side..... Is this because of the smog pump?
Third code is 94: Thermactor air system fault; transaxle switch solenoid fault (converter clutch), secondary air injection system inoperative (left side)
Thanks for any help.

yah its the coolant temp reading for the computer, to adjust Air/fuel ratios, it has 2 wires. the sensor for the gauge is located to the right of the distributor, with a 1 wire hookup.

I have a copper line running from my coolant sensor, the original wire is disconnected, should that matter, is so I think I may get a normal connector to hook that back up. lmk if you get a chance.

Do you still have your smog pump and stuff? If not, that's why you're getting the air pump codes. If you do, the equipment is not working properly.

thats not the right sensor. there are 2 different coolant sensors.
the one for your gauge has a 1 wire hookup, thats the one with the copper you are talking about.
the other one, the sensor that made that code, is located to the left of the distributor. its screwed into one of the metal lines running along the left side of your intake. it has 2 regular wires with a clip-on connector.
