Default What are the gains with LongTube headers

What will i gain by switching from bbk shortys and a H pipe to longe tube headers and a H pipe?

some upper power 5-10hp loose some lower end...bout the same next gain from shorties to LT's is 10 or so but the sound change is more than worth it. Don't forget the install is a pain in the *** and will take you some good time and effort.

also my motors out.. so ill be putting the motor in with the headers on.. dose that change the time and effort thing?

i have LT's and i can tell there is a lot more torque down low.... and they sound really nice

installing the engine with LT's in place is a PAIN in the ***...you can set them in the bay and drop the motor in that's how I chose to do it. I often read of people having the LT's installed and dropping the motor in but I see nothing but hasstle...clearance is definately an issue. If the mounts are not buttoned up and the steering shaft and starter are out then the install is fairly smooth but still takes some fussing around. LT's would definately be a slight advantage and if as you say you are still to install everything then definately go for it.
