Default smog pump

is it worht the effort to remove it? I live where there is no testing of exhaust. also if it is worth it, is the best way to go about it just buying the elemanitor kit fron jegs or summitt or ebay? thanks all for your time and help with my mustang.

I removed mine along with al the tubing that goes to the back of the heads, and to the H-pipe. Made the engine compartment a lot cleaner and may have gottten more power but who really knows. I had to get an 84 1/4 inch belt with the A/C removed also and routed it like this...

power increase by removing it is not much, but getting rid of it does clean up the engine compartment and makes it easier to access the passenger side plugs for service.

you can just remove it and get a shorter belt, there is two seperate ways to route the belt if you put the crank part on first i went to the right of the water pump its easier that way so that you dont have to worry about clearance from the tensionser hitting the belt the normal way ( sorry my spelling sucks )

Well you shouldnt really take the smogpump off if you have cats because it provides air to help them burn the unused fuel. You can take it off...but it may cause the cats to not function as good and maybe clog.
