Default Adjusting rockers

Tore my upper intake and valve covers back off today and loosened all the rockers back up so i could readjust them ( they were clattering loud )

So my question is....

Start at TDC 1 and adjust the rockers on the piston then move on to the next in the proper firing order ?

Anyone know the torque specs off the top of their head ? Or should i just go a quarter turn or so past zero lash ?

So should i use any torque specs at all ?

So i take it to TDC (1) ( both valves closed ) Take it to zero lash on intake and exhaust, and 1 more quarter turn and i should be good there ? And so on to the next 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8, do the same for each in taht order ? Just makin sure i got it down pat so i can get her back up and runnin again. I had it runnin, but i know i adjusted em wrong the first time.....

No torque spec in this case. Yes following the firing order will help you keep track.

Dude my valves where doing the same thing .
I went 3/4 on them
needless to say thursday I tore off the valve covers and readjusted them to 1/2
no more clappy valves Im guessing 3/4 was to much im in a 94 with 1.6 rollers
tfs stage 2 cam good luck hope you get it right!!!!
my vote is go 1/2 turn past 0 lash!!!it worked for me

I did half a turn on mine and they are nice and quiet until its been driven for a while and the oil thins out...then they louden up a bit. As much as I dont want to, I think I am going to readjust them when I retorque the head bolts at around 300miles. I will probably go 2/3 or 3/4 turn then.

Roller rockers are gonna be louder any ways

My valves were just makin a hella loud noise. I think i'll do a half turn. And usually if they are too tight they make a clattery noise, right ? Or is it too loose you hear the rocker jumpin around ?

I'll head back over today and hopefully get it back together. It took me like 2 hours to tear off the upper intake and valve covers the first time i took the original stuff off. Yesterday it took me like 15 mintues, so if i ahve to take it off again it wont be a problem.

Should i try and retorque the headbolts while they are off ?
