RE: trans question
it all depends on what else is wrong with it when they crack it open. i had the same problem with mine they openned it up and all the syncros were on their way and needs a bunch of other stuff. your gunna pay like 1500 for a rebuild better off buying a new one its cheaper

RE: trans question
$1500??? damn. i was thinking about buying another mustang but the 2nd gear on it is out so i'll probably have to get him to lower the price quite a bit. should i go for it or should i just look for another one?

RE: trans question
i needed new syncros in mine and there is only one tranny shop were i live and the guy was trying to tell me the same thing of "well you never know until we open it" thing so i went to auto zone and got a rebuilt for $839 but mine is for a carbed '84 setup, but the wc t-5's are not much more

RE: trans question
well 2nd went in my car and when i took it to the trans shop they opened it and none of the gears really looked to healthy + the cluster gear was messed up and they said to fix that one it would be in the ball park of 1,200 but i went and bought a rebuilt wc t-5 for 600 and it had an upgraded cluster gear it in =)

RE: trans question
like stated above a rebuild is about 1200$, however people tend to forget that i'll do it for less than 750 shipped (as long as it doesn't need "hard parts")
