I have heard good and bad things about welding the spider gears...I have heard that they are ok up to about 300 ft. lbs of trq but over that they plan on grenading inside the housing so I guess if you plan on staying under ~300 ft. lbs. of trq. than I guess no prob...I don't know how true that number is...I may be out in left field.

depends on how good the welds are, but only work up until lightly modded 5.0s

Like stated above ..... It is meant to mimic a spool. Have fun shredding tires and parallel parking if the car is daily driven
