new possible problem

RE: new possible problem
beg or borrow a radiator system pressure pump up device and put 15 psi pressure on the cooling system then look very closely for leaks around the themostat housing and other places. make sure the radiator is full before you pressurize it also so is will force liquid out of any leaks. could be a hairline crack in the thermostat housing or a blown gasket on it, or leak in a tube or house running across the intake too. how long had you been driving it before it overheated??? do you think the thermostat stuck closed??

RE: new possible problem
replacing the intake gasket on my dads truck only cost 300 dollars parts and labor. he didn't even charge for the diagnostic. we are frequent customers though b/c of my caddy.

I was driving it for about 5 min and I have no idea about the thermostat but it hasn't leaked since and seem to be holding all the antifreeze now....

well I pinpointed the proble...its seems theirs a pinsize hole in tube by the the radiator cap...I was looking over it like a champ and nothing then I turned the car on and let it run for about 45 min before anything happened then I saw the antifreeze squirting out....well atleast I found the problem

RE: new possible problem
didn't I tell you to get the engine up to temperature before you looked for the leak? you need the pressure and temperature up to normal before little tiny leaks like the one you found open up and leak so you can see them. often hairline cracks in metal won't open up until they get hotter and the metal expands. now go get it fixed!!!!
