What does an EGR spacer do to help HP? I really can't seem to find any info on them. Would you want to match the size of the TB?

If you end up getting a larger TB, then you want to get a larger EGR spacer as well so you're not restricting the airflow. I think that's what you're asking.

Yes that is part of it. but how does the spacer help other then less restrictive airflow?

It allows you to run the egr valve. W/o it, you can not mount the valve.

where would the valve normally be on the stock engine?

I's post a pic of mine, but my car is an SN95 and it would just confuse the hell out of you, as it is kind of in a different spot. Well, same rough location, but mounts differently and doesn't require a spacer. But I found a pic of an older 5.0 engine and circled the EGR in red. You can't miss it.

I have a 94 gt myself and I guess I have some mis-info...

I am planning on putting on a cobra intake that is sitting next to my desk. I thought that the EGR spacer added a few HP for some reason or another if I put it on the cobra intake..........

Ahh, I see. In that case you can ignore the above pic. The EGR is a LOT different on an SN95 5.0 (1994 and 1995.) On our models, the EGR bolts directly onto the elbow that's attached to the upper intake (unless you have an intake from a previous year or an aftermarket intake with a seperate elbow.)

Here's a picture of what the EGR looks like on my 1995. I took this pic after I had removed the TB. You can see where the TB would attach and you can see how the EGR actually. bolts directly into the elbow itself. There's no way to use a spacer on this setup. The EGR is the big rusty thing. Ignore the red circle. That was used in a previous thread to show a vacuum line.

Here is anotehr picture showing the EGR after the upper intake was removed. The EGR itself actually never moved because it is attached to teh header with a metal tube. So it's in the same position that it would normally be. I know this doesn't help much, but at least it lets you see what it looks like.
