i recently put 275/40's out back, and they fit at first, but i felt a vibration yesterday and when i checked it out today it seems it was the tailpipe on the pass. side(2.5" flowmaster) rubbing the tire and jumping around. have any of you run into this problem? i dont want to use turndowns but how close can i push my tailpipe towards the gas tank before it gets dangerous?

hell my stock 225 tires rub'd on my flowmaster.
very common.

just get under there and check your hangers and bend what needs bent
you might just have a bad/weak rubber hanger back there.

as long as it does not touch the tank you can get it real close.

I run the nitto NT555R 275/40R17 and I have no problems with my tailpipe

cool thats the answer i was lookin for, turndowns are cool on highly modded engines but i need to pass inspection

it varies from car to car, some people have to take their quad shocks off to fit them too but i didnt, these arent the most precisley built cars

mine does that too, I just pounded the tailpipe in where it rubbed

loosen the flange between the cats and muffler a bit and move the pipe to a more suitable location and tighten it up.

im running 225's out back and the back tires are pretty close to the pipes

i had to angle my mufflers a little bit.. looks kinda weird but fits good
