Catalytic converters worked

When I bough the car the person I bought it from had taken the Cats off, but I tryed it at the inspection station anyway to see if I could get it through. I could change the timing and it would change the results but would never pass both the test. I had to end up putting $450 worth of Cats on it and what a difference.

Before new Cats

Hydrocarbons Standard: 220.00 ppm
Vehicle Results: 1,058.00 ppm Failed

Carbon Manonoxide Standard: 1.20 %
Vehicle Results: 1.55 % Failed

After new Cats

Hydrocarbons Vehicle Results: 35.07 ppm Passed

Carbon Monoxide Vehicle Results: 0.05 % Passed

It only took 2 Cats. I have a offroad H-pipe that the guy just cut enough out of and welded the Cats in. I went with the oval instead of the round to give more ground clearance and they fit good. It did make the car a little more quiet but in a convertible that is not too bad of a thing.
