just know that if you have the chance to pickup a set of cleve 4 bbl heads you need to buy that fugger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

around where the valve cover bolts down there is a 4 cast into the head, theres your verify markings. (just cause theres a 4 bbl intake doesnt mean it was a real 4 bbl motor. those heads are worth an assload of money, and in STOCK form flow about as well as AFR's.

theres a company who sells the port risers to fill the floors in and get rid of the weak bottom end power yet retains the high rpm power these heads love to make. they are cheap and fairly easy to install.

if you could get your hands on a set of aussie cleveland heads have the best of both worlds when it comes to cleveland heads, they have smaller ports for more low end and are closed chamber heads for the higher cr, but they are not as cheap as a good set of aftermarket heads so oh well, and btw the cleveland never truely went away untill the early 80's, the 351m/400 are part of the 335 series in which the cleveland is from and the 351m/400 can be made into quick engines

That's true. I didn't mean it went away entirely, just got killed off as a performance engine. V8 power didn't win any popularity contests with gas shortages. It's justa shame not much development was done for them during production runsand they were produced in smaller numbers and then phased out. It coulda been a real powerhouse for Ford if they'd been standard issue for Mustangs. Too bad there's virtually no aftermarket support for them other than cams and manifolds. Course, don't need much more than that

ya cam and intakes and of course headers will make 1 mean cleveland, even if u just get some 4v heads and make a clevor still mean, and if no1 wants to fork over the money for 4v heads, look up chi 3v's or even 2v's very good heads, ask tim

It does have the 4 on the corner of the heads, I have read lots of stuff about weak cylinder walls and poor oiling. Couldn't I just get the block partially filled with block fill and get a machine shop to do some work on the oiling system??

clevor for the win. cleve heads are some of the nastiest heads built for a sb. imo they flow so well but its a bit more expensive than a windsor. u have to kno ur sh*t wit them or u will **** up. a well built clevor will run circles around the best ls1 motor. good luck

Have a 351c in our 73 vert. Its very fast but almost always has problems. I find myself fixing or replacing something every couple thousand miles. I think it may be to powerful for its own good. If I had the money I would pull it and get all new forged internals, over bore, sick 800 4bbl on it, and a better cam for idel.

^^^^^how used is it? does it run? any mods on it at all?

realistically they arent in a real demand right now, but on a weak guess i would say anywhere between 3-5 hundred for it.
dont take it to the grave though.
