Default should i go borrow $4K for this?

I saw in the Jeg's book today a Sportsman 302 block for $900. Its a 4bolt main and would be ideal for my 347 stroker combo. I also saw a Scat Stroker kit that came with a cast crank, forged Ibeam rods, and i think forged srp flat top pistons for $1,000 balanced. I already have AFR 185 heads that should really set it off with a new Super Victor intake and proform 750 carb. I still need to buy....

Strange Struts
C4 Trans (Tuff-line for 600HP) $900
5 lug conversion
install my 8.8 with gears.
Roller cam (anywhere from 550 lift up)

What do you think, should i go get a loan and get ready to go kick some bowtie ***? If you know of a better combo, let me know.

No way I'd pay for a Sportsman block.

why not? Its got to be stronger than the stock block. Why pay twice that for a Dart Block?

because you can buy a windsor for less that half of that, espically if your not planning on going over 500hp, get a 351 and stroke that bitch out to a 408 and make some serious power espically since your getting the c4 trans to handle it

well i intend to make over 500HP with the 302. first comes a little spray and then maybe a supercharger later. I just know that me racing at the track almost every week on a stock block is not going to last. I want to participate in certain classes and you are limited to cubic inches so a windsor is not in the cards right now.
