so the ignition module does tell the ecu to pulse the injectors. I was wondering about that. I know those modules are crap and have been known to go bad when they get older

at this point, i'd say replace the ignition module. its the cheapest route you have, so far. if your smelling fuel, and you have no leaks, then your injectors are working, and don't require testing, as they are problaby being held open instead of pulsed.

$25 for a new module, and a special socket to get in there(or a bench grinder to a regular socket) is cheaper than a good gasket set to pull the intake and get your injectors out to test them.
also, you will have eliminated the module off your list for the next few years, upon any further problems(hope not)

where is the pip located and what exactly does that stand for. I have the luxury of having my girlfriends fully functional 90 GT in the drive way, so I'm going to scrap parts of of that before I buy anything. Its not like she can drive it anyways. The rear is making some pretty horrible noises.

the PIP is inside the distributor, it requires removing the distributor and disassembling it to replace it. most people just go with a whole new distributor at that point.

PIP = Profile Ignition Pickup

The module is that electronic box with 6 wires, bolted right to the front of the distributor.

the PIP controls the spark timing, and it only communicates with the module, and the module compute's the PIP signal and sends out the corresponding injector pulse along with sending the signal to the coil.
if you have spark, your PIP is good.
at the same time, your module could still be bad, even though its telling the coil when to fire, because the fuel signal and coil signal are two totally different circuits in the module.
