Water Pump ?

RE: Water Pump ?
whoa, bad news. i've seen a WP shaft break off because of a bad bearing. that wasn't pretty, to say the least. take care of it, immediately, unless you like holes in your hood, or radiator, depending on where it decides to fly.

if you can hear a definite wobbling noise when you dirve, turn your *** around and take it to a mechanic, its shouldn't be but a one day repair, it might be a little costly, but you NEED A MECHANIC to look at it im serious as a heart attack, and as definite as death and taxes
really no joke here

Thanks guys, I happened to check some things on my stang last night & that is when I noticed that the shaft had some play. I've been having some sort of whinning noise come from the front of my engine compartment & I replaced the fan clutch, belt, alternator, tensioner pulley then bypassed the smog & power steering to see which accessorie was makeing the noise. After all that it was still making that noise so I grabed the water pump shaft & it had some play.

I tried to change my water pump and broke the bolt that is behind the power stering pump. Now I've got to tear this mother down and try and get the rest of the bolt that is stuck in the head out. The timing cover has to come of so I'm pulling the frikin motor next week and do all new gaskets and bolts. I also have a broken bolt in the upper cobra intake so that's why I'm going this route. So if you decide to do it yourself be very careful and take your time tearing it down. Then when you put it back together use anti-seez on your bolts.
