Default what to pay for a 351?

My church is junking their old church van. It's like a 1991 econoline or something like that. He's givin me dibs on the motor. As far as I know all that's wrong with the motor is it needs a head gasket. Other than that it runs fine. How much should I offer for it? What's the highest you would pay?

Also, will this motor bolt right up to my t5?

i just grabbed an EFI 351 from my semi-local junkyard for 400 shipped, 80k on it.

considering its your local church, be a little generous, offer him 500 for it. do the headgasket yourself and you got a nice *** motor for cheap.

I figured since it was my church they could be generous and give it extra cheap

Not sur ehow many miles it has on it, probably a lot more than 80k though haha.

$300-500 would be fair.

start saving up for some good heads and overhaul for it.

But before you build a 351... put those rear quarter panel ground effects on

Nice find, by the way. Personally, I'd offer 350

I have the peice, I just need to find where to get them lil plastic clips so I can put it on[8D]

I said 300$ and they SOLD!

Now I just gotta get 300 saved up, and buy an engine hoist, then I'll go pull it. To pull it, do I need to buy bolts to hook it to the hoist, or can I use bolts already on the motor?

if its an E-van, your gonna need to drop it from underneath, requiring a lift, or a REALLY tall jack.

or pull the whole front end off, grill, radiator, everything.... and pull it straight forward.
you can rent a hoist for about the money it costs to buy one, so your better off trying to find a hoist/stand combo deal

hell no. the total opening of the hood is what, like 15 inches? those motors are installed from the bottom.

the whole point of those hoods was to check fluids. most of the engine work is done from inside the vehicle, with the cover removed(i forget what they call that big *** cover thing)
