i roll in the water box in 1st gear,
stop
spin a little
pull up about 2 feet
put it in 2nd gear, rev it up to about 4500, and let go on the clutch and smack the brakes quick if you dont have a line lock. and smoke the cheit out of them!!!
the key to doing a burnout in a 5 speed, is getting the wheel speed up quick where it wont start wheel hopping. and 1st gear burnouts on et streets will not do it, , you have too use 2nd gear to get wheel speed up quick, to do a good burnout.
on et streets i used too run about 12 to 13 pounds, depending on how they preped the track.
ive seen some people run 20 to 25 pounds (in slower cars)
it all depends on how your suspension is working too. you will have too play around with the tire pressure.
but make sure you do a 2nd gear burnout and get them really hot!!
usually on just test and tune at most tracks they dont prep the track like they would on a race day...
so you might have to get some vht.
in my old car, i ran aline from my winshield washer motor, back right above my tires, and all i had too do was hit the washer button...and i had vht spraying right on the tires.

Couldn't have said it better! and gear burnouts def FTW!!!

check this out...
the only thing i would have done different with that burnout, is, i would have tried not to let it roll out so far with the tire speed still up, when doing the burnout.
but no one is perfect. and i know i cant shift like that guy.. not with my transmission and on the spray.
lol, this dude can bang the cheit out of the gears, kinda funny.
i wonder what kind of transmission he is running, because, it sounds too me like he never lifts off the gas between gears, but he might be a little ?? and on the spray too!!
even with a rev limiter, id be scared to do that on the spray.
but anyways, i just thoughtthis was a cool video.

i have found that sometimes burning out really doesnt offer much more traction when launching with my cobra sometimes. if the car sit for maybe a few hours and the tires get really cold, and its not really that hot outside, then theyll spin. but if ive driven them down to the track, i can do a VERY modest burnout and theyll hook just the same. i usually run about 14 psi and thats on 315/35/17. i still have to feather them cause theyll break in 3rd if i get on it right. but youll notice the traction difference definitely
