Cant do that like you used to.
Testing is all computerized with the state now.

My Tahoe failed last year due to some sensor glitch,
and I blew it off, never got a ticket or pulled over, but got a
letter from the state saying they know I failed, and know I have
not gone back and want proof that I have taken care of it now.

I've never had anything like that happen to me or anyone else that I know. It might be different for you since you live in Houston which I imagine would have a small smog problem. Up here in Amarillo we really don't have to worry about that.

can't get your new registration and tag in Ga if you don't pass, or you have to spend around 700 dollars and get a waiver, I think I have 3 years before I don't have emissions on my 87.

ORIGINAL: 89TripleWhite

well in CA its 30 years, and they just vetoed the law and now saying any car 1976 and earlier doesnt need to smog, but the 30 year roll on law has no effect now, sux for all the muscle cars in the late 70's, people thinking they can wait a few more years and start running straight pipes, can kiss that dream goodbye, well thank you arnold
i hope your wrong... i was waiting for 2015 for my car to be exempt now my hope is gone..

I just had to put Cats back on my car because they were off when I bought it. I tryed to set the timing to see if I could get it through but it was so far off passing I had to put Cats on. Memphis only checks the Hydrocarbons and Carbon Monoxide so they worked fine without the smog pump or anything else hooked up. Hydor went from 1058 to 35 and Carbon went from 1.55% to 0.05%.
