im looking into buying a bigger maf....... would this be good enough? or would i gain anything going bigger? if my tb is 70, would it be a waste to go bigger then 70? if not a waste whats the purpose? would bigger give me any bigger hp #s?

You dont want to go any bigger then 70 nearly ever. Some tests show that on blown applications smaller tb's work better. For N/A 70 is about the biggest you'd want to go...

generally you want the MAF to be a little bigger than the throttle body, like a 76 mm MAF with a 70 mm throttle body as it does make some restriction in the intake air system if you stay naturally aspirated. a blower or turbo overcomes the restriction with the boost they make, so you don't need as big a one with those compared to non-boosted applications. if you had no restrictions at all in the entire intake system including the heads, the engine vacuum would go to 0 at WOT, but even Pro Stock motors don't achieve this low a vacuum reading!

What's a good brand to go with on the MAF? I have heard that Pro-M is very good, but what makes them better than the other competators? I am going to be getting a new MAF down the road and was wondering what makes the Pro-M better. Thanks a lot ( P.S. , hey Roundman look! No typing errors! :D )

Pro-M is a good company. C&L I have been using when i buy my maf's and they seem to have very good quality in their products.

ProM is good because the way it sampled the air, it uses a radial input for sampling. for instance the CL only uses a small tube inside the MAF , this small tube only account for a very tiny area of the air flow against the inside wall of the MAF, it wont take into account turbulence and other crazy sh-t going on across the other side of the MAF. ProM's sample 360 degrees so it knows what going on regardless if their are bends and curves in the piping before the MAF.
