hey you've already got a motor for your car, so just take your time and go all out on the new one, you'll probably be pretty happy in the end

i dont want to build it for high horsepower though, gonna be a road car built for handling. lots of power is worthless in that general field. im just gonna build this motor to be reliable, soi can hold it at a high rpm and not worry too much. probably just gonna in the end have it balanced and blue printed, maybe make it a 306? never know. i need to finish the car before i can play with this new toy though..

Just do a 331 then.. you can basicly just " bolt it in" once it's ballanced to youre flywheel and harmonic ballancer. No block machining neede for clearence on the rods like a 347.

Why would you want to bore a new block? Or if it is a remaned, it probably already is a .030 over and is a 306. I would leave you bore alone and save your money for a new cam or something.
