Ok I'm running almost the EXACT same set-up with EFI right now.

I'm putting new 64cc heads on to get to 9.5 -1 compression

will be running custom twin turbo install ( super easy to do for same cost as s/c )

My tuner thinks we will hit 575-600rwhp on 10-12psi no problem
and have a nice street brawler that can eat Vipers at will.

YES a good turbo setup will add HUGE amounts of power.
figure +200rwhp on 10psi intercooled turbo.

I'll have pics of my turbo install for you in a couple of weeks.

are you stayin efi? i wonder how much my carb is going to cost me hp wise. i have not seen very many carbed turbo setups, i have been looking into it but it seems to be a lot harder to tune in a turbo then a s/c with a carb because the turbo is going to spike the hp as soon as boost comes in rather then a nice curve.

is there anyone out there with a blow through turbo out there that may be able to give me some advise?

shouldnt be too hard to do with the right blow-thur carb.
they make simple hats that sit on top of carb and feed into 3" pipe.

just have to find someone that knows how to tune a blow thru carb

I'm actually going to switch to a Edlebrak Victor carb style intake with EFI injector
ports and put on one of those 4 barrle TB's that look like a carb.

Carbs will make same or more hp than EFI

Boost comes in almost instantly on good turbo setup anyway.
Tuning for boost is same, boost is boost
You're thinking old school, new turbo desgins dont have that lag to 3,000 rpm
and blam instant boost after that anymore
Boost comes on line just like an s/c.

Are you going to use the spyder 5.8? And whos 4150 throttle body are you going to use? I have seen two that are worth while, Wilson Manifold and FAST. Pricey, but they seem to be the way to go.

Lower compression with higher boost makes more power generally speaking than higher compression with lower boost or none at all. Look at the new Ford GT and GT500's, they use a 5.4L engine that's only like 8.5:1 CR iirc, and use twin screw superchargers to make 500+ HP. The new LS7 in the Z06 Vette needs 7.0L and 11:1 compression to acheive the same power, only the blown engines make their torque at a lower rpm. Depends on what octane fuel you want to run too, and what is available

You know what you might do instead of buying a new set of pistons? I would get a custom cam ground for you, you can lower compression buyhaving more cam overlap. I would check out this calculator, it's really pretty informative. You can enter your motor/cam specs and see what kind of compression you are REALLY running. I have 10:1 pistons in my car, but with the cam overlap it drops it all the way down to 9.3:1

http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/comprAdvHD.htm

I would weigh the costs of each, you could probably end up pulling more power out of having a custom cam than changing to lower compression pistons.

The sypder intake is nothing but the Edlebrock Super Victor with injector ports and fuel rails for $750
Edlebrock now makes their Super Victor with injector ports for $350 ( same freak'n thing for half the money )
Edlebrock fuel rails for the intake cost another $80

I'm hoping to use this throttle body. Checking with my tuner now to see if my AEM computer
will talk with its TPS and idle control.

I might be able to get this under my stock hood again ..............................
