Roller rockers are really loud.

best way to set lifter preload is with intake off.
with intake off, as you tighten down rocker nut watch the lifter.
when you see the pushrod JUST start to compress the lifter
you are at "0 lash". Now give it another half turn to set preload.

Most people do it by "feel" with intake on, but unless you've
done it a millions times its hard to know what its supposed to feel like.

You might have rocker hitting your valve covers too.
Do you have ovesized valve covers? did you remove the baffle in your stock ones if not?

You have to adjust the rockers acording to the cam, so zero lash and half a turn might not be right for his cam. Call your cam manufacturer and ask for the specs.

I was thinking maybe forgot guideplates, pushrods not sitting in the rocker properly, something causing the pushrod to be rubbing/hitting the head, the rocker would prolly be moving around pretty wild too. Never know, it's hard to diagnose a problem without being there to see it. Trying to think of anything it may be

I never noticed mine making any excessive noise
