Manual to auto - recommendations?
The clutch-one has to leave b/c it's just not me (long term), just not my thing.
I was looking at the PA's C4 ($900 w/a liftetime gaurentee on the 1,000HP model). How much for the whole setup w/TC? I don't mind having to shift a tranny "manually" ie moving the shifter forward and backward throughthegears (would prefer it does it, but I'm sure that involves a computer), but I've never driven a true performance auto. It'll eventually have Twin turbos & while I love mileage, I hate that clutch [:@]What other options are there? Eventually I'm looking for 500HP (over the course of a year, maybe 2), then the car stays for life. What cons am I looking at? Overdrive is preferable, but if the C4 is all that will hold up, I'm open. I just want an auto,I love the car. I know the crossmember can be moved. How little wiring can I get awaywith?(computers are the enemy )
This deployment will free up around $2,000, but shipping from the US to England will hurt no matter what.

a built AOD its a little more expensive, it all depends on wheter you want to maintain overdrive, if you don't mind not having it then the C4 will be cheaper and probably fulfill with your looking for, Peformance Automatic is very reputable and if you call them they will make sure you get exactly what you're looking for

You can get an AOD or have one built that will withhold as much horsepower as that C4 that you're look at. But OD is going to cost you. I'd stick with a beefed AOD transmission.

What kind of RPMS would the C4 give at 65mph?
What exactly does"full manual" on an auto mean when it comes to shifting? Just using the shifting lever to go up and down in gears right? Or does it operate off of hydraulic pressure?

put it this way...i had a 1989 f-350 with the 351 winsor...3 speed automatic...on the interstate i had to draft semi's so that my rpms wouldnt be sky high! that truck has alot more wind resistance than a mustang though...gearing and tire size make alot of difference too.
