4.6 guy, 5.0 questions
I hate to ask a question like this, and i am not trying to be insulting at all. This is my first 5.0 post.
My friend has 5-8 grand to spend and he likes the fox. BUT, he doesnt know a lot about working on them, but like everyone else he wants it to be wicked fast. He really wants to outrun my mustang and with some of the times i have seen thrown down while reading up on the 5.0 forums, i dont see to many foxes running a 13.5 unless they are pretty heavily modded and running DRs. I also have mine custom tuned w/ and intake good for up to 25 more ponies.
What year would be a good year for him to buy? I am partial to a 93 or 88, but i heard some power making problems with the 93 (maybe the heads??? i forgot)
I know the HCI swap is what most suggest, but i know he cannot do that by himself and i am not much better.
I thought about getting him to fix up the suspension first because all stangs need some suspension work, that is actually a weaker point of my car. What should he get and would it be worth it for a daily driver as far as feeling fast goes?
What overall direction should i push him in???
Thanks for the help and i hope i didnt step on any toes, just dont know much about tha 5.0s

RE: 4.6 guy, 5.0 questions
5.0's are easy to work on and tons of mods for them.
If he could buy a decent 5.0 and put and s/c or turbo on it
it would rock some shyt.
93's were rated with less hp, but it was a math change by Ford
They had same engine and made same power
89 and newer will be MAF
90 and newer will have air bags
nice 89-93 coupe/notch would be nice.

RE: 4.6 guy, 5.0 questions
first off i take offense to the 5.0s not hitting 13.5s. On a stock engine basically, the 5.0 can run 12s with JUST suspension. So.........maybe he should buy any 5.0, throw a grand into suspension and then you can ask yourself why you didnt start with suspension.
