This is a 5.0 from a 1993 thunderbird. I get 12v to the coil. The coil checks out with the voltmeter. I put on a spare working coil to be certain. Distributor with new TFIin September. Swapped out the TFI with a know good one and still no spark. What am I missing? I hate to order a new distributor if I have neglected something.


Car ran a total time of about an hour. First startup went fine. Set the timing and it ran well. Got the car home and it failed to start once in the driveway. NO work done but came back later and it started. Car then died on side of road after a few laps arounfd the block. came back next morning car started and made it home. It has not run since.

bad PIP, inside the distributor, underneath the plate that the rotor spins on. you have to pull the shaft out of the dizzy to get to it.

Thanks mattdel! I replaced the distributor and that was the problem.
