Need alternator help quick
Istarted my 3G conversion tonight (still waiting on the alternator but I have the wiring). I removed the battery and battery tray and I removed the air box to make a little more room. I then removed the alternator and disconnected the two plugs. From what I understood, my 4 gauge wire replaces the two wires (black wires with orange stripes)that run from the alternator to the starter solenoid, is this correct? And you don't use those wires anymore? I'm confused right now and hoping that I gotthat wire correct. Any input would be appreciated!

Eveything I've read says it's better to leave those two black wires connected to the relay and to the post on the alternator and use a 4 guage wire also. Not sure, but from whatI gather, there are other wires spliced to those two black wires that go somewhere else and you can't disconnect them at the relay or it causes a problem somewhere else.

I just did this last week, same way as Capri said. With the plug that you cut off, the two black wires go on the alternator stud along with the 4 gauge power wire while the white one goes to the white little single plug. Thats pretty much all there is to it.

FWIW the PA Performance instructions say to attach the two wires to the post, so why go against that? I personally dont know the reasoning behind it, but I am sure there is a reason for doing it that way.
