Default Need help again!!!

I'm having some issues after the 3g swap. I started it up after I did the swap and now the battery light stays on and the needle for the volt gauge stays a **** hair above the 3rd line. Can someone help me troubleshoot? If you have any questions that can help you out please do ask. I need this bitch running properly by tonight!

Here's what the multi-meter is telling me when I hook it up to the battery posts, with the motor off and the key on my volts are at 12.6v (which is normal), with the motor running at idle the volts are at a steady 12.16 when you rev it they drop down to 12.10. What the heck??? It should be around 14.4 with this different alternator.

And the gauge reading was fine and my battery light was off before I did the swap.

How is my car keeping charge though??? It's holding a steady charge I've had it started up about 5 times running each for like 4 to 5 minutes. I just read somewhere that you need to leave the fuseable links on thetwostock power wireson the solenoid side connected but leave the alternator end disconnected, I'm going to give it a try!

i really don't know the answer here, yet. the gauge runs off the battery, so if the alt was charging, you'd see it.

is it possible that you got a bad alt? was it a junkyard piece?

i'm doing the 3g swap very soon, along with the fog light wiring fix at the same time.

i'm buying a brand new 3g from 50resto, blue [&:]

I GOT IT FIXED!!! WOOHOO!!! This thing charges like a son of a buck now! It was a 1 minute fix, what I forgot to do is explained here:

The voltage sensor taps off the two 10 gauge wires somewhere between where they connect to the alt and tie into the starter solenoid.

What you do is just disconnect them from the alt but do not disconnect them from the solenoid. This will prevent the alt from sending power through them but lets the voltage sensor get the power it needs from the solenoid.

I had both ends disconnected, but I reconnected the solenoid end and it works like a dream now.
