Tie Rod End

Hey I just went and got 2 new rear tires, and the guy looked at my car while he was installing them and said i had a broken tie rod end. He said it was 80bucks for the part, and 120 for the labor. Does this seem reasonable and should i supply the part or should he?
Thanks for your time.
PS I know its broken because i can feel my car sway abit.

****ttt no. first of all, tie rod ends are around $20 for outers, and aroudn $35-40 for inners. secondly, both of them are cake to do yourself, but a shop shouldn't charge you more than an hour, plus an alignment

oh, well they didnt even include the alignment i dont believe. So i will make sure to take her somewhere else. Is it safe to drive it for a week or so until i can get it done.

that all depends on how bad it really is. if its just barely starting to get loose, you should be fine. but if its ready to fall out of its own socket, you shouldn't drive it.

if you have access to a jack, jack up that wheel from underneath the control arm. then when it's in the air, shake the tire from side to side, and corner to corner. if it's really loose, you'll be able to feel it.

couldn't tell ya. there is more than 1 part that could be bad. he could be trying to swindle you, you could have broken sway bar links. you should take a look for yourself, maybe take some pictures and post them here. also try what i suggested earlier.
