So I drove my 94 Cobra to work last night. When I left work the car started up and sputtered a bit, I pumped the gas and it ran strong. I put it in reverse and the car stalled. I tried to start it again and the dang thing wouldn't start. I looked at the gas guage. Of course, it was low. So I put in 7 gallons of gas and the dang thing sitll won't kick over. Everything sounds strong but for whatever reason it won't turn over.

Ideas please....

is the engine hot or cold? did you just get done driving it and it wont start or did it sit and now it wont start? did you ever have these troubles before? does it crank at normal speed and everything and it just wont start?

Cold engine, never has happened before. Cranks at normal speed, just won't start. Im guess a pump or fuel filter problem. Oh yeah and I tried the pump cut off switch in both positions and sitll nothing.

Does the pump run on when you crank?

when you put the key to the on position does the fuel pump come on?

if you let it run out of gas, could be injectorsor fuel filter.

Are you getting fire? I've had to replace the ignition module on all three stangs I've had over the years. All pre 94 tho.

Sorry for the ignorance here, is this something I would be able to hear by going to the trunk to listen? I've never had to mess with the fuel pump before. But it sure won't stop me from changing it if I need to.
