Throttle sticks/ have to tap accelerator
[sm=smiley6.gif]1992 GT 5spd throttle sticks/ clean throttle body & plate with cloth there is build up I'll remove it month later it starts again. Someone suggests..... [sm=icon_blah.gif] Why not put a return spring?.... But if you put a return spring like in the "carburated" days of old. Would this work on a fuel injected system? Would that rapid return of a spring, when you let go of the throttle harm the engine.... That would be my concern, any ideas, suggestions would appreciate thanks. [sm=smiley14.gif] Al

RE: Throttle sticks/ have to tap accelerator
could be just a cable goin out or not luberd up .... could use another spring.. but might make throttle a little stiff too... wich some people like... maybe get a 70TB

RE: Throttle sticks/ have to tap accelerator
Although I don't think it would harm the engine in any way seeing as your throttle is supposed to close immediately when you let off the gas, I don't understand why you would have to do something like that. Why is build-up forming? Figure out a way to stop it. I feel that putting on a return spring is kind of half-a$$ed, determine the problem and fix it the right way.
