honest oppinion plz
Hye guys just lookign at pulling the mustang apart and rebuilding it... but i've heard theyre a hard engine to do... has me scared... ive done engines before (232 inline 6, 289 v8, 390 v8)... what do you guys think? is it a decent job for an average joe... or should i take it in to the shop?

if you have done engine rebuilds your half way there. the smallest stuff ALWAYS takes longer than the bigger things. if you have a good idea of how if works, do it. ive never had heads off a engine but i have been doing a ton of reading on a cam swap and im even begining to think i could do it. (no time table, but i think i could do it)

if you have done a 289 you can do a 302 they are simple engines i dont know who told you they are hard to get into just make sure you mark down what hoses went where so when you put back together it goes together the right way lol i learned that the hard way

you dont really have to worry bout wiring incredibly much. yea, its very important to mark things but these are late model cars. its kinda hard to mix up connectors since the manufacturers dont put like connectors close to each other. i'd say give her hell and dive into the 5.0

i agree. not too hard. you could take a bunch of pics to help you get it back together. hands on is the onlyl way to learn and have a buddy on stand by that you know they know what theyre doin
