Default Replacing my stock headers

I apologize if this question has been asked from other people about a million times. I would like to replace my stock headers, but by doing a search I'm just not sure what I want to replace them with. I would like to get some suggestions from you guys on what I should do. As of now I have an x-pipe and SLP I mufflers. Should I replace them with shorty's or should I replace them with full length headers? Will replacing my stock headers improve the sound and hp output? The reason I ask this is because my stock headers look almost like there kinked a little bit and if I'm not mistaken I'm probably losing flow, right? Thankyou for any help you can offer me!!

if you already invested in the X pipe then just go with the shorties, there isn't a grave enough difference b/t shorties and LTs to buy a new mid pipe, your better off buying shorties and then investing the money you would spend on the newmid pipe somewhere else

The motor is basically stock with a few add ons such as:
electric fan with 130 amp alternater
MSD blaster ignition/w spark plug wires,dist. cap,rotor
Accel coil
Hypertech chip Fully functional ram air
373 gears
Will replacing my headers with shorties help my hp at all considering that they are stock?--will it sound better? and is it normal that the stock headers are sort of "kinked"

it will help a little and sound a little different too, but why not go with different add ons like cai, pulleys, mass air and t body?

i agree, either equal or non-equals, both are nice. Ford motorsport shorties are quality also.

Yes, the stock headers are kinked. Thats just how Ford made them unfortunately and does effect flow. Ford kinked the entire exhaust. Unless its a repro OEM part, the aftermarket doesnt kink thier stuff which improves flow. Looks better to.
