i think the truck motor makes more power, better cam, but not 100% sure and its prolly not set up in HO firing order unless it is a ho. non ho 302s have a slightly differant firing order

no the have the same firing order. they shouldnt make any more power or why would the mustangs have the high output? like i said before i believe the cams are a tad smaller along with the heads and they have cast iron exhaust manifolds. im gettin the cam specs right now.

fyi theres nothing different about the heads between a truck and mustang. they will almost certainly both have E7's on them (depending on the year of course but anything later model anyways)

the cam is most likely the same as the one found in the mustang. if its an HO its one cam (with the 351w firing order), if its the non-HO motor it will have the other cam. contrary (sp?) to popular belief for didnt throw different cams and different this and that in every different vehicle the 302's went in.

you best bet to find a motor that wasnt worked hard or beaten is to grab one from a town car, grand marquis, or crown vic. better odds that a mature/older person drove it and didnt beat the crap outta it.

a stock mustang cam is .4448 where as the truck cam from 95 and up having the same firing order, 94 and down is different, the cams are .380/.39584. so theres ya some specifics

94 and down for the mustangs, or trucks, or all 302's? like i said they didnt use different cams in every different vehicle - but i can imagine there are a few different flavors that were used overall in all the different cars. (anyways who does a motor swap and doesnt toss a bigger bump stick in anyways?)

truck motors arent ho motors and neither are crown vics or towncars or grand marquis, unless they are police interceptors. just because they have rollers in em doesnt mean they are ho's. but youre right on one thing. who doesnt put a bigger cam in along with a bigger motor
