YEah that was just a standard gap for the stock plugs... I'm sure that .055 will be fine.

ok i gapped my plugs 0.053 - 0.056 and took it out for a test drive. i did feel a difference in pull for sure. it just pulled harder in every gear, now my MSD ignition can really shine

you mean you noticed more pull of just the plugs? or the whole msd kit?

when i gapped the plugs i noticed a power increase. the extra gap allows the MSD's big spark to be a big spark. if the gap is too close than the spark will be puny and the MSD ignition is practically worthless.

you can increase the plug gap with an MDS ignition as it makes plenty of power to jump the larger gap and make a bigger, hotter spark to light off the fuel/air mixture. and the material the plug is made of doens't have anything to do with the size of the plug gap you run, it justs makes the electrodes last longer is all. I'd run them at .055 or so and you'll get good results.

Also depends on your compression ratio or if you are blown. Higher compression equals lower gap, but definitely not the stock gap, too small.

I run my plugs on my almost stock 1993 cobra @ 0.54 gap with platinums. On the 410 i run the plug gaps @ .060 with a complete MSD system and compression is 9.42 to 1
