Default Anyone using "Mr. freeze"

I was thinking about switching from my Snow Boost Cooler kit to an Anderson Mr. freeze methanol injection kit. A couple reasons really... for one I have little to no room in my trunk anymore. 15lb nitrous bottle, subwoofer, battery, boost cooler w/ tank... Also I like how there are little to no mechanical parts to potentially fail...like pumps or solenoids. I also know that the the further away from the intake I can put the nozzle, the more it can help cool the air. Finally, I can shed a littlw weight

Anyway, right now I have my methanol spraying just behind the MAF. I know that if I switch to Mr. Freeze, I will have to put it on the inlet side of my supercharger. So I just have a few questions about the Mr. freeze kit.

1) Wouldn't this screw up the MAF sensor? I would think that the water and methanol would hit the emelents and cause some major problems. How does it work with a blow through MAF? There's no chance of me changing to drawthrough so that's not an option.

2) Does it hurt the impellers at all? I know that it bssically sucks the liquid into the S/C and te impelelrs atmoize it. Do they get damaged or corroded by this method?

3) How well does it work at low boost levels and does it increase the amount of spray as boost increases? I like that my Snow kit can kick in hard at low boost levels and can hold it all the way to 10. how will Mr. freeze do from 1 - 5 PSI and ten from 6 - 10PSI?

1. i dont think you can use mr. freeze with a blow through

2. some people say it damages the impellers but i have had my kit for over a year and dont see any signs of wear yet.

3. the mr. freeze kit begins spraying at 1psi of boost and sprays more methanol as the boost increases. boost builds quickly for the first few psi so your already making 2-3psi of boost before the methanol gets into the motor which is perfect since you dont need the methanol with only a couple psi of boost

from what i read about, it seemed like it worked best with boosted applications

it only works on boosted applications. the mr. freeze kit has no electrical pump and relies solely on boost pressure to fill the methanol tank and push the methanol out. basically the exact same way a super soaker water gun works.

Well yeah, considering that it's impossible to use Mr. Freeze with a naturally aspirated engine. You can with Boost Cooler though.

Damn... that is what I was wondering about. I guess it only makes sense though. I was just hoping that there was some way to use it with a blowthrough.

i remember a while back on stangtuning.com some one with a blow through had the same problem. i dont remember what the responses were because the problem didnt pertain to me but i believe there is a way to make it work. call rick anderson on monday. he will be able to help you out. one of the nicest and most patient people you could ever have helping you. just before to call early because after noon i think it is, he works in the dyno room and doesnt answer the phone.

After looking around and talking to some people, looks liek I won't be using Mr. Freeze on a blowthrough setup. Oh well, I guess I can live with Boost Cooler for now. I was just hoping to get rid of some pumps / solenoids. So many damned wires and tubes under my hood as it is!
