If your making 600rwhp your going to be spinning some rpms so your going to need 4.10s all the way up to 4.88's depending on tire size and powerbandbut hes not looking for 600hp.
That's not always true why would you want I hear gearing if you had the power all you would do is spin!!!!!!
So your saying if your cars making 600rwhp and spins to 7000rpm you need 3.55 gears so it will hook? First of all you would be going through the traps outside of your powerband. If you can't hook it has nothing to do with gears it has to do with suspension and tires.
I hate to rain on your parade zach.. but 4.10 gears are a waste on anything thats more than stock

How do you figure that? So your saying if I have a 351 that makes 600hp at the wheels and spins 7000 rpm 4.10's are a waste. So your saying that the only purpose for 4.56's is to make stock cars faster right?

Say my peak power is atis 6500rpms, I'm going through the traps at 5500 in 4th gear with 3.73's with a 28 inch tire. You don't put a shorter tire on because then your no longer consistant and would have hooking problem. You put a set of4.30's or even 4.56's to get you through the trap in 4th gear at 6500.

I love how you have no clue wtf your are talking about. A car with 600hp is going to trap alot faster than 100mph... which is where a stock car will trap on 4.10 gears

why dont you go out to the track and ask some people what they run. youll be suprised at the answers you get.

Adder the more mods you have, normally your going to change heads and cam and intake to allow for more RPM's. when your at the track your not going to run out of RPM's expecially with 3.73's That's the last thing you need to worry about. Zach is right

well take into consideration MY setup... 26" tall tires, 3.73 gears. My car doesnt make much power past 5500rpms... so being up that high is about where I wanna cross the beams.

I can assure you that I dont want to be spraying 150 through my intake at much more than 5500rpms, and im sure as **** gonna be turning more speed than 112mph

so what would I do... go with lower gears

This is one of the guys from my car club.500+rwhp and yes he has 4.10's and never runs out of gear. You want to be at the top of 4th and the end of the track and around 7000rpms.With the correct tire setup, powerband andgear ratioyou can easily do that. That is a perfect drag car.
