Default New to THIS Forum!

I just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. I am about to reacquire my '95 GT. I purchased it back in '98 and drove it until the spring of 2003 when I gave it to my mother because I bought an '01 Eclipse GT. That didnt last long until I bought me a 2004 NIssan 350Z which I dumped a ton of money into. She had a Vortech SC running 9-10 psi, full intakeand exhaust mods as well as springs, sway bars, wheels, rear end swap and a full body kit! TheZ was making roughly 390RWHP and 340RWTQ out of an automatic 3.5L V6!

It was fun but I bought me a boat and needed something to pull it. So, I bought me a 2007 Hummer H3. Well, my mother recently went into the hospital(which she is fine now) and I have my old Stang sitting at my house right now.

I am really in the process of seeing what is out there for the '95 Stang. The car is an automatic with approx. 170k miles. The tranny was rebuilt when it had 106k on it which was about5 years ago when I still had it. The mods that I know are on it are as follows:

Cervini's FiberglassRam Air Hood (cracked now)
K&N Filter
Cats have been removed and straight pipes welded in their place
Flowmaster mufflers
Wheels
Some cosmetic stuff inside

I am not new to forums, but I currently have dial-up which is very prohibitive while searching thru thousands of posts in a forum. I have thought about maybe doing a 5 speed swap, but am not sure what is involved in doing so. I guess I am basically saying HI and looking for some advice on how to mod this car and which mods to get. I am not looking to get 600RWHP out of this, but I was possibly 300-400RWHP w/o going FI, if that is possible! I assume swapping to some 410 gears are going to be one necessity. Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Zach

I don't have a lot of time to post, going to a car show, but this should help you out a little for ideas.

It your wanting 600 rwhp first of all don't put 4.10's in it go for 3.55's or 3.73's and then your prolly gonna want take the motor out maybe get it bored considering it has 170,000 miles on it but are you looking for naturally aspirated or forced induction but if I was you I would do the bore, pistons, cam, heads, intake, maybe do some port work with the heads, bigger throttle body, bigger injectors and so on!!

Is it even possible to have a 600 bhp 5.0? I mean, don't these things fall apart around 500-550 bhp?

300hp isn't hard to make on these little 302's. The trickflow top end kit makes 300rwhp on most peoples cars that it gets installed on. Of coarse your going to need stuff like headers, larger throttle body and spacer. Upgrading the fuel pump wouldn't be a bad idea either.

If your making 600rwhp your going to be spinning some rpms so your going to need 4.10s all the way up to 4.88's depending on tire size and powerbandbut hes not looking for 600hp.

he said he DOESNT want 600.... for 3-400whp, look into a stroker kit(327/331, or 347) and an h/c/i, ima recomend you do not get a "h.c.i. kit" and that you piece one together yourself(you will see bigger gains). stock trans should be fine given you can drive, but if it wont hold up, upgrade. for the rear go 3.73, or even lower at 3.55, 3.27. personally i want 400 to the wheels and will keep my stock 3.08 rear. your gonna want to run DRs. and your suspension will have to be built, new u/l rear control arms(im getting granatelli), rear shocks, front struts(STRANGE 10 WAY FTMFW), and new springs all the way around. stock clutch wont handle it, look at a spec stage 2, or similar.

or you can turbo it

yes, it is very possible... the reason why the 5.0 usually fails around 500hp is because nobody has any clue how to properly tune their cars. Im not saying that I can do any better.. but the reliability of a motor lies in the tune.

As far has 300-400rwhp on an n/a setup.. I hope your going with a stroked 351w based motor.. thats the only way your getting close to 400rwhp n/a without retardedly high compression and race gas

So your saying if your cars making 600rwhp and spins to 7000rpm you need 3.55 gears so it will hook? First of all you would be going through the traps outside of your powerband. If you can't hook it has nothing to do with gears it has to do with suspension and tires.
