T-5 Q

Does the T-5 call for auotmatic trans fluid, becaese last week when i put a cluth in the cobra it looked and smelled like automatic fluid. I replaced it with some 90wt gear oil, hope its ok.

i believe the wc t-5s call for 85w oil(i believe). a little lighter then you put in but it will do shouldnt hurt anything.

add 50/50 mix of synthetic 10w30 and regular Automatic fluid.

it really prolongs the life, so does an aftermarket shorty shifter.

Gear oil such as 85w wont go through the pores fast enough. older mustang books call for this. Gear oil becomes very hot and doesnt dissapate heat fast enough. Heat is the enemy, so is missing the 3rd gear enough times...

It's supposed to have ATF. If you can get some, put a quart of GM Synchromesh and then fill it up with ATF.
