Default Interior Paint

I've been on 50resto.com looking for some interior trim paint for the mouldings on the interior of my car, and my dash. It's important for me to get the closest to original color as possible, but can I pick up a paint that will match at like Napa, Schucks, or AutoZone or should I just pay the $11 a can + UPS shipping and get it from 50resto? Basically the only "prep" I planned on was rubbing down with rubbing alcohol, would that work fine? Thanks alot guys.

I have bought paint from 50resto. They were very helpful when it came to the colors and the paint matched extremely well. Plus there is different paint for different surfaces.

I've seen someone saying on this forum that the only way is to us an adhesion promotor called "bulldog". It is sold atWalmart in the auto section.
I've also done some research on the net because I'm going to do mine this summer. Here is what I'm going to do (from reading on the net).
1.) scrub really good with soap and water.
2.) scuff lightly with scotch brite pad
3.) wipe down with alcohol
4.) apply adhesion promotor
5.) dye or paint with multiple light coats

Good Luck and remember the look you acheive is all in the prep.

Hey, i actually painted my whole interior with some black vinyl paint from autozone. Prep just like the guy above said and i actually used some canned primer and then painted over it. It kind of helps with the bubble action you get if not prepped well. here is a link of a couple pictures i took of my seat but you can see the interior. The interior USED to be GRAY.

I went to the local automotive paint store and had them mix up a qt of titanium grey for mine. Worked very well, went from red to grey and very close color match. Just clean whatever you paint very very good! When you think you got it good clean it some more! 15+years of grease, grime, body oils, and armor all are very tough to paint over!

yeah it was made buy duplicolor i think in a black can. I didnt use clearcoat on mine but I did on a friends only because we used a "Hot Rod Gray" primer for the color she wanted for the door panels and it was sticky so we clearcoated over them. It will be fine. Its pretty shiny as is (looks like its clean) and as long as you keep it that way it would be alright. I havent used armorall or nothing but i would just wipe them off with a damp rag.
