i'd agree a grand sounds about right done right. i would charge that myself. depending one what you plan on doing with the block would depend on the level of machine work you want to put into it and also that would depend on your school of thought. me personally i would have the block completely remachined knowing how cast iron or any metal has a tendancy to shift as it stress relieves itself over time and heat cycles. i would line bore to insure i have a good clean datum point to start with then deck the block with the final part being bore and hone. but if you don't really want to do all that just bore and hone the sucker and keep rolling. there have been many engines just bored and honed or even honed over the years that have had very few issues. good luck on the build

u might get it done at jays here in everet for less than a grand, there prices on other stuff are cheap like a head planed for 40 bucks,and flywheels for like 15 i think, so im geussing based on that shouldnt be to expensive
