Default torsion rods

i have a 90 lx notch. anyone have any tips on how to take the torsion rodsout of the trunk? so far i've got them part way out but i have no idea how to detach them from the hinges. anyone done this before? i really don't feel like cutting them [8D]

They just pull out of the hinges. Be careful though.

they pull straight back? like the bar goes into the back of the hinges and you can pull the bar straight out (towards the back seat)?

i have 2 10" subs i wanna slide as far back as i can. aside from that i have a saleen wing on the trunk lid and they barely do anything with the extra weight.

did you remove yours? is there a specific order to do things in? i did some research and these things seem to be pretty dangerous so i wanna do them the right/safe way. i'm planning on adding gas struts at some point but for not i just want them out. i can unhook each one on the side where they hook into the u-shaped grooves, but i can't seem to get them out of the back of the hinges. is there a good way to relieve the stress so that they come out easier? are they hooked into the backs of the hinge arms? thanks for the help
