Is there any difference in the 80s - 93 from the 94 - 95?

Aside from the body and suspension I'd assume. I mean the 5.0 engine, was it exactly the same engine?

up to 85 was carbed, 86's had EFI with E6 heads, 87-95 had E7 heads, 93 and up have hypereutectic pistons.

its creation process is different, up to 93 had forged pistons. basically the forged pistons are stronger.

So the later 5.0s would cost more to get up in HP, as one would probably want to have forged internals?

not really. the hypers are good for a few hundred HP. best year fox to get, speed wise, is an 89. its the lightest year with mass air, and no airbags. best motor to get is 90-92 because of the moly rings. its a toss up.

Hypereutectic pistons will likely last as long as your block will.

I don't like em all the same

Also, there was a small cam profile change in '89 to reduce valvetrain noise. It resulted in a 3hp loss, but wasn't reflected in the numbers Ford gave.
