I was bored so thought i'd see how much gears affect the top speed crusing at 6350 rpms in OD with the AOD and 26.9" tires... heres what i got

if you have the power to back it up and the mods to hold it steady at 6350 rpms in OD then this would be your top speed... enjoy

lol, who cruises at 6350rpms? AFAIK, you can't go WOT in OD(if you can you shouldn't anyway) so I really don't see how that's possible. My bolt on AOD 5.0 really doesn't go much past 110mph in 3rd anyway.

those calculators are way off. ur top speed even with a 5 speed wont hit 170 in a stang with stock gears and 400hp...its the car design. im not sure about the AOD but in the AODE you can go to OD in WOT but its not good for the tranny. couldnt you just let off to shift into OD then hit the gas again?

i used to be able to shift WOT into OD but then one day... it just didn shift lol

now i have to let off to "go fast" into OD

yeah i have been told even with the A++ OD band that it can burn up...that really stinks!

an aod will not shift into od at wot, it will ds at about 1/2 throttle even

also, the tire spec'd was almost 27 inches, a 225 gatorback is closer to 25 inches

2 inches makes a big diff

he will NEVER hit 274 mph in a stang!!!!! the bugatti (1000hp and costs $$$$$) has a top speed of 255. it can go for 12 minutes at that speed where tires will melt apart or it will run out of gas. maby 160 in an sn-95.
the AODE can shift into OD under WOT.
