Default Quick power steering question

are the 2 pressure fitted lines on the rack supposed to feel loose even when the line is tightened down? I replaced the line from the pump to the rack because it was leaking at the pump, now each day there is a puddle of fluid on the ground on the passenger side

I read that they were supposed to have some sort of loose connection in a Mustang handbook, but then when I disconnected and flushed mine on my '91 they were all tight.

Did you put any pipe dope or teflon tape on the threads when you put it back together? It looked like Ford used some so I followed suit... No leaks.

I beileve they are not supposed to be loose mainly because that flare has to fit in there nice and tight but yes like maxwell said take the line back off and put pipe dope on it if you didn't already!!!!
