Default Head bolts?

Well I take it that you cant reuse stock head bolts. I shoiuld probably get some ARPs wondering wehat peoples ideads were on this, i think Haynes manuals say youn can reuse stockers as long as the threads are in near perfect condition, but i dont really buy that, let me know yopur thoughts

As I understand it, the stock head bolts are a 'torque to yield' type bolt which really means they are NOT re-usable.
I would get ARP's or something like them as they could be reused several times...........

You can never reuse head bolts, but head studs are reusable. I bought ARP head studs for my project and I really like them.

Grade 8 factory head bolts can be reused as long as they are not TTY(torque to yield). Any TTY hardware can only be torqued to spec ONCE, then it's been stretched to the yield point where it will no longer stretch back, so if you over torque it, or untorque it, it's done.

Can be reused? I think i just read something about nbeingr able to be used 5 times?

Hmmmm......thats what io read in my Haynes, So how do you know if the TTY?
