I know alot about 302's and 351's but I know nothing about the 390's were they good performance motors?

those are the only big block that i have screwed with.in a bunch of my ford highboys good hella torquee motor

They are decent. There aren't many big block Fords that can keep up with the Chevys and Chryslers. Maybe the 427 cammer and the 429 shotgun. I know people will hate me for saying that but I'll argue it to the death.
